be the first priority of any study since that situation was created first. She said the 210 property
owners in Danbury Park should be proportionately represented in any east side study."
Carol Varela, 3858 Mohr Avenue, amended page 2, paragraph 5, sentence 2, to read as follows:
"She stated that while the notices comply with the law, they lack detail and are not clear to the
average citizen of Pleasanton. This not only adds confusion, but angers residents when they find
out items do concern them."
3. MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE
PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE
AGENDA
Carol Varela, 3858 Mohr Avenue, stated that at the last meeting there was a direction to staff
that she would be working with staff to ensure that public notices are clear to the public. She
contacted staff to find out what she should do to get involved. In response, a message was left
on her answering machine on Friday, February 20, informing her that the notice had already
been completed. A copy was faxed to her later that day. Upon reviewing it, she found that it
was more unsatisfactory than the previous notice. She specifically noted that it did not mention
the Busch or Staples properties. She, therefore, contacted Chair Cooper with her comments and
asked whether staff could wait until at least Monday before the notices were printed so she could
- work with staff on the language. She expressed her disappointment that she never received a
return call and that she never had any involvement with staff in preparing the notice. Chair
Cooper apologized and stated that it was his understanding that she would be allowed to work
with staff on the notice. He also stated that after he spoke with her, he contacted staff and was
told that the language relating to Busch and Staples would be included in the notice. Ms. Varela
stated that as of today she has yet to review a copy of the revised notice.
4.
