Jerry Iserson presented the staff report, citing the history of the application and describing the
location. He noted that the only entrance to the business would be through the existing
first-floor antique store. He further specified the proposed hours and stated that staff feels the
proposed use would fit in with the other establishments in the Adobe Plaza Shopping Center. In
addition, Mr. Iserson stated that the current available pazking is adequate and, therefore, no
additional parking spaces would be required. He also reported that staff notified the surrounding
property owners and the Downtown Association and have received no comments. Staff
recommends approval of the application, subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit "B".
Commissioner Dove asked whether there would be an elevator to the second floor for the
handicapped. Mr. Iserson stated that it's exempt because the location is already an existing retail
establishment and the second floor would remain retail. The Building Department has reviewed
the plans and has determined that it is exempt from this requirement.
PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED
The applicant, Bonnie Lindsey, stated that she is in agreement with the staff report and
conditions for approval.
