Commissioner Dove asked Mr. Iserson to confirm whether a public restroom will be built for the trail that will run behind the proposed building as previously recommended by the Commission. Mr. Higdon noted that he has not heazd the restroom mentioned. Therefore, Mr. Iserson agreed to investigate the issue further and report back to the Commission. In response to Commissioner Bazker's question, Mr. Higdon stated that the proposed headquarters building would be paid for by the Cities of Livermore and Pleasanton. PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED There was no public comment. PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED A motion was made by Commissioner Wright, seconded by Commissioner Dove, recommending that the Commission make the findings that the proposed Fire Department headquarters conforms to the Land Use Element of the Pleasanton General Plan and is consistent with the existing PUD zoning designation for the site. Consideration of proposed program of the Downtown Parks and Trails Task Force Dolores Bengtson presented the staff report, noting that the task force was appointed by the City Council to develop a master plan for downtown. The task force developed the proposed program by visiting sites and holding a large number of meetings. The proposed program was reviewed and approved by the Pazk and Recreation Commission on February 5, and will be reviewed by the City Council on Mazch 3, 1998. Ms. Bengtson introduced Richard Lazson, the consultant for the proposed program. He pointed out that the plan deals with the following eight major projects: Wayside Pazk Delucchi Park Fire Station Building Regional Trail/Transportation Corridor Downtown Area Arroyo Del Valle Bridge at Main Street over the Arroyo -- Main Street Green Downtown Square Planning Commission Page 5 February I1, 1998
