Commissioner Dove asked Mr. Iserson to confirm whether a public restroom will be built for the trail <br />that will run behind the proposed building as previously recommended by the Commission. Mr. <br />Higdon noted that he has not heazd the restroom mentioned. Therefore, Mr. Iserson agreed to <br />investigate the issue further and report back to the Commission. <br />In response to Commissioner Bazker's question, Mr. Higdon stated that the proposed headquarters <br />building would be paid for by the Cities of Livermore and Pleasanton. <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br />There was no public comment. <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Wright, seconded by Commissioner Dove, recommending <br />that the Commission make the findings that the proposed Fire Department headquarters <br />conforms to the Land Use Element of the Pleasanton General Plan and is consistent with the <br />existing PUD zoning designation for the site. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Barker, Dove, Kumazan, and Wright, and Chair Cooper <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. PC-98-09 was entered and adopted as motioned. <br />c. Consideration of proposed program of the Downtown Parks and Trails Task Force <br />Dolores Bengtson presented the staff report, noting that the task force was appointed by the City Council <br />to develop a master plan for downtown. The task force developed the proposed program by visiting sites <br />and holding a large number of meetings. The proposed program was reviewed and approved by the Pazk <br />and Recreation Commission on February 5, and will be reviewed by the City Council on Mazch 3, 1998. <br />Ms. Bengtson introduced Richard Lazson, the consultant for the proposed program. He pointed out that <br />the plan deals with the following eight major projects: <br />Wayside Pazk <br />Delucchi Park <br />Fire Station Building <br />Regional Trail/Transportation Corridor <br />Downtown Area Arroyo Del Valle <br />Bridge at Main Street over the Arroyo <br />-- Main Street Green <br />Downtown Square <br />Planning Commission Page 5 February I1, 1998 <br />
