Terry Townsend, the applicant's azchitect, noted that the main reason a kitchen has been included in the <br />cabana is for convenience because the kitchen in the main home is on the second floor, 30 yards away on <br />a sloped site. <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Wright, seconded by Commissioner Dove, making the <br />conditional use permit findings, and approving UP-97-103. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Bazker, Dove, Kumazan, and Wright, and Chair Cooper <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. PC-98-04 was entered and adopted as motioned. <br />b. UP-97-105, Paul and Catherine de Dood <br />Application for conditional use permit approval for a secondary unit in a detached, 675 square <br />foot game room within a new two-story home to 6e constructed at 2965 Bottini Court. Zoning for <br />the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - A/OS/LDR (Agriculture/Open Space/Low <br />Density Residential) District. <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report and gave a history of the application, describing the main home <br />and proposed secondary unit. The unit will be separate from the main home, although they will shaze a <br />common roof which will extend from the main home and across afive-foot wide porch to the secondary <br />unit. The unit will contain a full kitchen and bath and will be used for recreational and entertainment <br />purposes. The applicants have no intention of renting it out at this time. <br />Mr. Iserson further reported that no traffic impacts have been identified at this time or are anticipated in <br />the future since there is adequate parking available within the existing site. In addition, there have been <br />no concerns expressed by any of the neighbors. Staff is recommending approval of the application based <br />on the condition listed in Exhibit B <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br />Paul and Catherine de Dood, 2965 Bottini Court, Pleasanton, addressed the Commission and stated that <br />the unit will be used mainly as a pool house for convenience purposes. They agree with the staff report <br />and the conditions. Michael Brinker, the applicant's architect was also present for this hearing. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Kumaran, seconded by Commissioner Wright, <br />recommending approval of Case UP-97-105, subject to the staffs conditions identified in Exhibit <br />_ ,.B ~~ <br />Planning Commission Page 3 January 28, 1998 <br />
