a <br />City of Pleasanton o <br />_ a <br />Task 1.2 - Alternafives Analysis <br />After receipt of all of the above items, KHA will prepare a traffic operation analysis of the following <br />scenarios: <br />Existing Baseline -existing traffic volumes, geometry, and traffic control. <br />_ Existing plus Signal -existing traffic volumes with installation of planned troffic signal. <br />Future Baseline -future traffic volumes, with existing geometry and Traffic control. <br />Future plus Signal -future traffic volumes with installation of planned traffic signal. <br />Future Altemative 1 -remove $B loop off-ramp and replace with $B diagonal off-ramp <br />IV. Project Delivery <br />Future Altemative 2 -remove SB loop off-ramp, replace with SB diagonal off-ramp and add <br />eastbound Bernal Avenue to SB I-680 loop on-ramp <br />Future Altemative 3 -retain SB loop off-ramp, add SB diagonal off-ramp and add eastbound <br />Bernal Avenue to SB I-680 loop on-ramp for full movement interchange. <br />The three future alternatives listed above represent our preliminary recommended alternatives and <br />may be modified before analysis is commenced based on the kick-off meeting conducted with City <br />Staff. <br />KHA will analyze Traffic levels for The identified key intersections under each analysis scenario. This <br />effort will utilize SYNCHRO traffic analysis software and will report level of service, delay, and <br />queuing results at the I-680 southbound ramps intersection with Bernal Avenue. In addition, a <br />review of the alternative design operations impact on the adjacent intersection of I-680 northbound <br />ramps and Bernal Avenue will include overall corridor delay, queuing issues, and any potential <br />conflict zones. Based on the results of the analysis, KHA will identify the preferred alternative that <br />provides the greatest overall benefits for traffic operations and design geometries at the study <br />intersection. <br />Task 1.3 -Altemafives Analysis Technirnl Memorandum <br />KHA will prepare a technical memorandum including text, tables, and figures documenting the <br />methodology and results of our analysis and figures, which will be submitted electronically for your <br />review and comment. The Draft Technical Memorandum will recommend one preferred alternative <br />for further detailed study during Phase 2 of the project. <br />Based on one set of non-conflicting comments, the results of the traffic operation analysis will be <br />revised and finalized for submittal. Three bound copies and one unbound copy of the final technical <br />memorandum will be submitted to the City. It is not anticipated that KHA will attend any project <br />meetings or public hearings of this stage in the project to determine selection of fhe preferred <br />alternative. Instead, the Final Technical Memorandum will reflect the recommended preferred <br />alternative to be studied in further detail for geometric design feasibility in Phase 2 of the project, as <br />reviewed and revised based on comments by City Staff. <br />15 <br />~~~ endA~aa~w' .Ne <br />TL820087.08 <br />
