PROJf:CT Dr. l.n~r.rz~ <br />Project Understandigg <br />The City of Pleasanton is currently updating its General Plan document, and anticipated future <br />modifications To the roadway network have resulted in a need for a more detailed analysis of the <br />access to Interstate 680. Based on these changes, the City of Pleasanton is requesting a detailed <br />traffic operations evaluation of the Interstate 680 southbound ramps with Bernal Avenue. The <br />evaluation will review the existing vehicular traffic volumes and operation of the ramp location, but <br />will focus principally on the evaluation of future traffic volume forecasts and potential modification <br />to the ramp layout to meet the future traffic demand. Multiple design alternatives for the on-ramp <br />and off-ramp locations will be studied and a preferred alternative will be further evaluated and <br />drafted to determine the feasibility of the design and The next steps in the design process. <br />a <br />r <br />c <br />a <br />0 <br />a <br />Scope of Services <br />IV. Project Delivery <br />Based on conversations with City staff, we are proposing the project to be divided into two phases: <br />Phase 1 -Preparation of an existing conditions and future Traffic operations alternatives analysis <br />at the intersection of I-680 southbound ramps with Bernal Avenue. <br />Phase 2 -Preparation of a geometric design feasibility study for the preferred alternative I-680 <br />southbound ramps aT Bernal Avenue. <br />Phase 1- Traffic Operations Malysis <br />Task 1.1 -Project Kick-off Meeting <br />KHA will initiate the project through a kickoff meeting with the City of Pleasanton to finalize the <br />project requirements, project schedule, and To collect available traffic data.
