BURNS <br /> <br />(EXPERIENCE) Soil'citation of conventions has moved the Sacramento area from <br /> 69 conventions with 69,000 delegates in 1972, to the present <br /> projection for 1982-83 of 600 conventions with over one-half <br /> million delegates. <br /> <br />Assistant Director Directed purchasing of all equipment for con~nunity center; <br />Tucson Community wrote job definitions for all positions in the community <br />Center & Convention center; coordinated construction and consulted with builder <br />Complex. and architect. Worked with convention bureau in solicitation <br />July 1970 to November of conventions and assisted in negotiations for contracts <br />1972 in the operations of the center. Supervised the operation, <br /> maintenance, and event activities in the conmnunity center. <br /> Acted as community center director in his absence, supervised <br /> work staff of center, recommended revising operational plans, <br /> changes in personnel and changes in procedure. Solicited use <br /> of center by professional promoters, charitable organizations <br /> and convention groups. <br /> <br /> Assisted in preparation and presentation of operating and <br /> capital budget while keeping cost control of activities. <br /> Personal appearance made at community center events, training <br /> of center personnel and supervision of ticket control. <br /> <br /> Information speeches to groups within the area as well as <br /> reports to fifteen-member commission. <br /> <br /> Coordinated all events using the arena, exhibit hall, and <br />Event theatre of the Fresno Community and Convention Center. As <br />Coordinator, january Coordinator, met with licensees and manifested for use of the <br />1969 - June 1970, facility, equipment, and service personnel (union stagehands, <br />Fresno Community and ushers, maintenance, and concession). Directed set-ups and <br />Convention Center, supervised events in all three facilities for conventions <br />Fresno Convention and meetings, with attendance of 25 to 8,000; athletic events, <br />Bureau. ranging from college basketball and boxing to indoor rodeos <br /> and ice hockey; theatrical events of stage productions and <br /> musicals to ice shows and rock and roll concerts. Exposed to <br /> box office procedure, concessions and catering service. <br /> Experience in operation and maintenance of buildings, <br /> including physical set-ups for banquets, ice shows, ice hockey, <br /> circuses, indoor rodeos, conventions (trade shows and political} <br /> and all types of theatrical and non-theatrical stage productions <br /> <br />General Super- Supervised every phase of the recreation program within the <br />visor, 1965-68 school district. Completely responsible for the formulating, <br />Coalinga-Huron organizing, planning, supervising and programming of all <br />Recreation Dept., district playgrounds, community centers, school gymnasiums, <br />Coalinga Unified sport programs (both children and adults), aquatic program, <br />School District camping program and entire special interest, cultural and <br /> instructional programs throughout the district. <br /> <br /> <br />
