One Hundred Twenty (120) Firefighter <br /> semester hour units to include: Fire Engineer 5% <br /> a minimum of 60 upper Fire Lieutenant <br /> division semester hour units Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> and -- a minimum of 48 <br /> semester hour units in a major <br /> field of study of which a <br /> minimum of 24 semester hour <br /> units must be upper division <br /> courses. <br /> <br /> NOTE: The above educational levels are not <br /> cumulative. The maximum educational incentive <br /> pay received by a Firefighter, Fire Engineer <br /> or Fire Lieutenant shall not exceed 5%; the <br /> maximum educational incentive pay received by <br /> a Fire Captain shall not exceed 2-1/2%; nor <br /> shall an employee receive incentive pay for <br /> more than one educational level at the 2-1/2% <br /> rate nor more than one educational level at <br /> the 5% rate. <br /> <br />19.6 Dooumentation of ~ucational Achievement <br /> <br /> A. Evidence of successful completion of a degree or <br /> certificate shall consist of either of the <br /> following: <br /> <br /> 1. Diploma or certificate indicating the major <br /> field of study. <br /> <br /> 2. Letter from the college registrar certifying <br /> award of the degree or certificate and the <br /> major field of study. <br /> <br /> B. Evidence of completion of the required accredit <br /> semester units or quarter hour equivalents may <br /> consist of any of the following: <br /> <br /> 1. College transcript of grades. <br /> <br /> 2. Official grade slips from each of the courses. <br /> <br /> 3. Letter from the college registrar certifying <br /> the completion of each course with a grade of <br /> "C" or better. <br /> <br /> - 27 - <br /> <br /> <br />
