19.5 Educational Levels/Pay <br /> Educational levels attained under the In~entive Pay Plan <br /> must be completed with a total grade point average of <br /> "c" or better. The specific levels of educational <br /> achievement and their respective educational pay <br /> percentages to which the educational incentive pay plan <br /> applies are as follows. <br /> <br /> In part, in recognition of the monthly salary <br /> established for the rank of Fire Captain as set forth in <br /> Section 5, the Union agrees effective July 1, 1984, to <br /> the reduction in the educational incentive pay <br /> percentage for Fire Captains for the following <br /> educational levels: BS/BA degrees, 180 college quarter <br /> units, 120 college semester units. Said pay percentage <br /> shall be reduced from five percent (5%) to two and <br /> one-half percent (2-1/2%) as reflected below. <br /> <br /> Educational Eligible <br /> Level Positions Pay % <br /> <br /> A.A. or A.S. in Fire Science Firefighter 2-1/2% <br /> Fire Engineer <br /> Fire Lieutenant <br /> <br /> Sixty (60) accredited Firefighter 2-1/2% <br /> semester units of which 24 Fire Engineer <br /> units must be in Fire Science Fire Lieutenant <br /> <br /> Ninety (90) accredited quarter Firefighter 2-1/2% <br /> units of which thirty-six (36) Fire Engineer <br /> must be in the field of Fire, Fire Lieutenant <br /> Science <br /> <br /> B.S. or B.A. Degrees Firefighter 5% <br /> Fire Engineer 5% <br /> Fire Lieutenant 5% <br /> Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> <br /> One Hundred Eighty (180) Firefighter 5% <br /> quarter hour units to include: Fire Engineer 5% <br /> -- a minimum of 90 upper Fire Lieutenant 5% <br /> division quarter hour units; Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> and -- a minimum of 72 quarter <br /> hour units in a major field of <br /> study of which a minimum of 36 <br /> quarter hour units must be upper <br /> division courses <br /> <br /> - 26 - <br /> <br /> <br />
