Seotion 14. Leaves of Absenoe <br /> <br /> 14.1 Leave of Absence ~ithout Pal <br /> <br /> The appointing authority may grant a full-time employee <br /> leave of absence without pay or seniority for not to <br /> exceed three (3) months. No such leave shall be granted <br /> except in writing and upon written request of' the <br /> employee setting forth the reason therefor. Upon <br /> expiration of a regularly approved leave the employee <br /> shall be reinstated in the position held at the time <br /> leave was granted. Failure on the part of an employee <br /> on leave to report promptly at its expiration or within <br /> a reasonable time after notice to return to duty shall <br /> be cause for discipline. The Fire Chief may grant a <br /> full-time employee leave of absence without pay for not <br /> to exceed one (1) calendar week. Such leaves shall be <br /> reported to the Personnel Officer. <br /> <br />14.2 Jur~ Leave <br /> <br /> Every employee of the City who is called or required to <br /> serve as a juror shall be entitled to leave from his/her <br /> duties with the City during the period of such service <br /> or while necessarily being present in court as a result <br /> of such call. The employee shall be paid the difference <br /> between his/her full salary and any payment received by <br /> him/her, except travel pay, for such duty. <br /> <br />14.3 Leaves Resulting from Subpoena <br /> <br /> Leaves of absence with pay shall be granted to a person <br /> while going to and from court and answering a subpoena <br /> as a witness. The employee shall be paid the difference <br /> between his/her full salary and any payment received by <br /> him/her, except travel pay, for such duty. <br /> <br />14.4 Militaz7 Leave <br /> <br /> Military leave shall be granted in accordance with the <br /> provisions of law. All employees entitled to military <br /> leave shall give the Appointing Authority an opportunity <br /> within the limits of military regulations to determine <br /> when such leave shall be taken. <br /> <br /> - 19 - <br /> <br /> <br />
