CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />ORDINANCE N0. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2-5.21, 2-5.25, and 2-5.27 <br />OF ARTICLE 2 (DEFINITIONS), CHAPTER 2 (ZONING), TITLE II <br />(ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT) BY ADDING DEFINITIONS FOR "NURSERY," <br />GARDEN CENTER," AND "PLANT STORE; AMENDING SECTIONS 2-7.08(a) <br />'(PERMITTED AND CONDITIONAL USES), ARTICLE S (C COMMERCIAL <br />DISTRICT), CHAandR2?7.21(3) OF,ARTDCLEE9D(IGINDUSTRIAL2DISTRICT), <br />CHAPTER 2, TITLE II OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />THE CITY COUtdCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Article 2 (Definitions) of Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II <br />(Zoning and Development) of the_O,rdinance Code of the City <br />of Pleasanton is amended by adding the following definitions: <br />(a) Section 2-5.21 is amended by adding the following <br />as subsection (b) and relettering the remainder of <br />the subsections: <br />"(b) Garden Center - a site or structure where, <br />in addition to the services offered by a <br />nursery, flora materials, garden accessor- <br />ies (such as lawn and garden furniture, <br />statuary, swimming pool supplies and equip- <br />ment, irrigation supplies, greenhouses, <br />lawn mowers, etc.) and landscape and garden <br />construction and bulk materials (suchavin <br />decking, decorative rock, tan bark, p g <br />stones, bender board, etc.) may be sold and <br />garden or landscape related services (such <br />as lawn mower sharpening and repair, garden <br />equipment rental, etc.) may be offered." <br />(b) Section 2-5.25 is amended by adding the following <br />as subsection (f): <br />"(f) Nursery - a site or structure where only <br />plants, plant materials, or garden supplies <br />(such as fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, <br />small garden tools, etc.) are offered for <br />sale; plants are raised or stored; and <br />landscape design services may be offered." <br />(c) Section 2-5.27 is amended by adding the following <br />as subsection (c) and relettering the remainder of <br />the section: <br />"(c) Plant Shop - a use located wholly within a <br />structure where the principal activity is <br />the retail sale of indoor plants." <br />DRAFT <br />
