ATTACHMENT 7
Rosalind Rondash
From: Stephen and Rebecca Roberts [steers@msn.com]
Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2008 9:36 PM
To: Rosalind Rondash
Cc: rebecca.roberts@ci.dublin.ca.us
Subject: PUD -73
Hello Rosalinda,
We are Stephen and Rebecca Roberts, 216 Kottinger Drive...next door to the proposed plan at 204 Kottinger
Drive. First of all we are NOTin favor of this PUD-HDR at all! As a resident at 216 Kottinger Drive for the past
15 years and an exceptional resident, we have seen many, many changes around us. We've seen the traffic
problem accelerate and now you are considering additional high density residents on the other side of us not to
mention the following other considerations:
-First of all, at this point, we don't know if it's a one story or two story being built. If they area 2-story complex
you are considering, we are vehemently opposed to this plan due to the HERITAGE TREES between the
properties and again, the HIGH TRAFFIC that will accumulate on 2nd Street, and the blocked skyline which we
personally dearly love. This has been taken from us already on the other side which will also make a TUNNEL'
affect which is absolutely horrible and unacceptable.
-Secondly, when I/we first moved to 216 Kottinger, again, we dearly appreciated the Heritage Tree and also
received an adamant letter from the City of Pleasanton stating we could not ever do anything to these trees
unless followed by strict City Rules. Don't tell me that it'll be okay to suddenly trim the trees to get one more
greedy residence in place next door for the almighty dollar. AND, if they trim the Heritage tree to cause it to go
off balance (which again I may add that it was very strict in the ordinance and letter received that we could never
trim a certain way) IF this tree is thrown off balance, it could cause a concern of branches falling on our house in
the future when windy weather or whatever kind of weight is shifting may cause to damage our house and/or
cause injury or death in our household. You better believe this is a huge concern with us and our neighbors
around us.
-Third, and finally, I just want to reiterate the parking concern that will accumulate on Pleasanton's "beloved" 2nd
street and also as outstanding residents as we are, it would be a shame to see this building go up and block yet
another skyline for the greedy dollar, and to diminish the open atmosphere in this neighborhood which is already
too highly condensed between the senior center and rentals we have on the opposite side not to mention the
traffic will become more of an intense problem with the narrowing of the road at the end of Kottinger.
My wife cannot make the upcoming meeting, but I along with other concerned neighbors will definitely be
attending. We would appreciate this letter to be included as an attachment in the discussion. We are very
concerned about this proposal especially if it includes a 2-story building with a high density environment which
would further congest traffic. It is horrendous.
Sincerely,
Stephen and Rebecca Roberts
216 Kottinger Driver
Pleasanton, CA 94566
925-485-9292
4/16/2008
