ATTACHMENT 4
leasanton Heritage Association March 25, 2008 comments
The issue of splitting lots on land that is zoned for multiple dwellings is one that requires
some consideration. In general, PHA generally disapproves of the splitting of lots where
the zoning is R-1-6500. We understand that the density for this property is greater. While
the issue of affordability is important, these lots are very small. It is hard to imagine how
the space can accommodate two houses, adequate parking and landscaping. We have
concerns about parking, density and design, and would definitely like to be apprised of
any discussions on this property, even though it is technically not in the DSP. Its
proximity to residences within the DSP plan is clear. We do urge in this matter that
historically appropriate architecture and adequate on-site parking for any development of
the site. Garages would be preferable to carports. The Pleasanton Heritage Association
takes no position on this issue other than the concerns addressed above.
