CALL TO ORDER -PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Chairperson Ellgas called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was <br />recited. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Commissioners Jim Dibiase, Teddy Kinzer, Kurt Kummer, Jerry Pentin, <br />Herb Ritter, and Chairperson Karen Ellgas. <br />Commissioners Absent: None. <br />Staff Present: Jim Wolfe, Parks and Community Services Director; Steve Bocian, <br />Assistant City Manager; Lisa Hagopian, Parks Maintenance Superintendent; <br />Fan Ventura, Management Analyst; Mike Fulford, Landscape Architect; and <br />Gail Spielvogel, Recording Secretary (transcribed by Edith Caponigro). <br />7. MATTERS BEFORE THE COMMISSION <br />A. Discussion Regarding the Kottinger Place Task Force Recommendations Concerning <br />Preliminary Conceptual Proiect Site Plan <br />Mr. Wolfe advised that Mr. Bocian, Assistant City Manager, would be covering this item with the <br />Commission, but reminded the Commission that its focus should be on how the proposed <br />recommendations would affect the area park, and any recreation related issues. <br />Mr. Bocian reviewed with the Commission the staff report relating to this item, advising that in November <br />2003, the City Council authorized staff to begin studying the potential for replacement, expansion and/or <br />renovation of Kottinger Place, a 50-unit affordable senior facility owned by the City's Housing Authority; <br />and Pleasanton Gardens, a privately owned 40-unit affordable senior development.
