'PS' logo in approximately 12 in. high letters. Colors would be
orange for the sign face and cabinet with black letters for the
'PS' logo and 'Public Storage.' Lettering for the 'Rental Spaces'
copy would be white as well as the logo background.

The free-standing monument sign would be located within the
planting area along the southern side of the driveway. The sign
would be double sided and would match the color scheme and design
of the wall mounted sign. The sign would be interior illuminated
and would have a 3 ft. high by 6 ft. long sign face set atop a 2
ft. 6 in. high slump-stone type pedestal, resulting in an overall
height of 5 ft. 6 in.

Staff feels that it is necessary to provide identification of
mini-storage facilities of this type but feels that the proposed
sign program should be revised to eliminate the wall mounted sign.
Staff feels that the proposed freestanding monument sign located
perpendicular to Old Santa Rita would provide more than adequate
identification for the site. Therefore, staff recommends that the
wall mounted sign be eliminated. This is the same recommendation
that was approved for the recently adopted mini-storage project to
the south.

BENEFIT DISTRICT

In May of 1983, the City of Pleasanton entered into a street
improvement agreement with Callahan-Pentz Properties which allows
for creation of a mutual benefit district or other district(s) to
partially reimburse Callahan-Pentz Properties for the cost of the
street improvements that have been made to Old Santa Rita Road.
The project site benefits from the improvements that have been made
to the roadway and, absent their construction in advance, would
normally have been responsible for installing its frontage
improvements. Therefore, staff recommends that should a district
be formed to finance these street improvements, this site should be
responsible for paying for the cost of improving its frontage as
determined by the City Engineer.

NOTE: This site is not a part of any of the North Pleasanton
assessment districts for street, freeway, fire or water
improvements. Those major districts exempted lots less than 2
acres in size and/or improved in some manner. Staff does not
recommend adding this site to any of these districts past or to be
formed.

- 7 -
