Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority <br />Special Transportation for Seniors and People with Disabilities <br />Tasks to include: <br />1. Invite local transit representatives and PPS riders to the fair. <br />2. Work with local newspapers to promote the fair. <br />3. Implement the fair and provide evaluation for future events. <br />Outcome II <br />Expand travel training opportunities with LAVTA staff. <br />Tasks to include: <br />1. Develop quarterly travel training class schedule. <br />2. Schedule monthly Downtown Route Outreach meetings with LAVTA's travel <br />trainer. <br />3. Work with LAVTA staff to develop a Transit Counselor position that <br />regularly meets with seniors at the local centers and provides one-on-one <br />counseling appointments to address individual transit needs. <br />Outcome III <br />Implement the new PPS Driver Training Program to support the recruitment of new drivers <br />and on-going training for existing drivers. <br />Tasks to include: <br />1. Hire new Driver Trainer and develop course outline. <br />2. Implement Driver Recruitment Program to train and license new part time <br />drivers. <br />3. Develop and implement Driver Assessment Program to provide on-going <br />training for drivers. <br />4. Provide defensive driving information at PPS staff meetings. <br />Outcome IV <br />Implement the Pilot Downtown Route <br />Tasks to include: <br />1. Design Downtown Route marketing plan, including design of rider materials, <br />outreach flyers and articles, and contact list of key agency and business <br />contacts. <br />2. Orient and train PPS Drivers/Dispatch staff regarding the DTR. <br />3. Orient Pleasanton Senior Center staff and volunteers about the DTR. <br />4. Alter PPS Bus to meet the needs of DTR. <br />5. Send marketing and education materials to PPS riders. <br />6. Send marketing materials to local newspapers. <br />7. Complete outreach meetings to local senior housing managers, businesses, <br />community leaders, and other City of Pleasanton departments. <br />8. Create data collection system. <br />9. Create financial record keeping system. <br />10. Establish weekly DTR Driver/Supervisor meetings to review issues and <br />concerns that may occur. <br />11. Begin the program and continue to meet with DTR staff to make adjustments, <br />collect data, and complete outreach. <br />12.
