Based on the prioritized list of pedestrian projects, provide an <br />implementation plan. Identify portion of funding that could come from <br />sources outside of the City budget. <br />j. Design Guidelines: Develop "City Best Practices Guidelines" to <br />supplement existing state and federal standards such as Caltrans Highway <br />Design Manual, AASHTO, and MUTCD. Provide recommended <br />practices for bicycle and pedestrian facilities on arterial, collector, and <br />residential roadways including areas with limited right of way width. <br />Include recommendations for widths/signage of bicycle facilities. Provide <br />recommendations for crosswalk striping standards including mid-block <br />crossing standards on arterial, collector, and residential roadways. <br />Provide design standards for pedestrian facilities in rural areas. Provide <br />standards for short and long term bicycle parking. Bicycle Parking <br />analysis should define appropriate type of parking and location and <br />number of bicycle parking spaces based on land use type. <br />Develop materials for both private developers and City staff to ensure that <br />bicyclists and pedestrians are adequately accommodated in final project <br />design and during construction. This includes building and roadway <br />projects. These guidelines to be used by developers, planners, contractors, <br />and inspectors. <br />k. Identify other opportunities and constraints not already described. <br />Identify opportunities to enhance bicycle and pedestrian usage as well as <br />constraints that are not described above. <br />Project Outreach and Oversight <br />This project will be overseen by the City of Pleasanton Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian Advisory Committee. <br />At a minimum, the following outreach efforts will be made with meetings <br />to be attended by the Fehr & Peers Associate in Charge and Fehr & Peers <br />Project Manager: <br />Attend 3 evening meetings with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory <br />Committee. The first to gather input, the second to present the Draft <br />Master Plan and receive comments, and the final to present the Final Draft <br />Master Plan and receive comments. <br />
