Modify the island nose on the south leg of the intersection to accommodate the dual left <br />from westbound Valley Avenue to southbound Santa Rita Road. <br />6. Review striping on Valley Avenue west of Santa Rita Road and modify if needed to align <br />with the new lane configuration east of Santa Rita Road. Prepare signing and striping <br />plans for the proposed striping and the relocation of signs as required. The plans will <br />extend to show the transitions of the proposed striping into the existing striping. <br />7. Modify the traffic signal as needed based on the above curb relocations. It is anticipated <br />that the work will include replacing the mast arm pole on the southeast pork chop island <br />with one that will accommodate a longer mast arm, removing the pole on the southerly <br />median island, replacing the mast arm pole on the southeast corner with one that includes <br />a left turn head as well as a through vehicle head, and modifying the pole on the <br />northwest corner to add a northbound to westbound left turn head. KHA will take <br />direction from the City on whether or not to replace loops and loop pullboxes due to the <br />fact that video detection is present at the intersection. <br />Scope of Services <br />Task 1-Project Administration and Management <br />Lynne Filson will be responsible for the coordination of contracts and efforts for all of <br />the team members. She will develop a comprehensive Work Plan and Schedule to accomplish <br />the project goals in close coordination with the team members. <br />In addition to the scoping meeting held on June 15, 2007, project team meetings will be <br />held and scheduled around key project milestones, including: <br />- After City's review of Conceptual Plans. KHA will submit conceptual plans to the <br />City that may include optional ways of proceeding for some design elements. KHA <br />will meet with the City to discuss alternative and set a course for the preliminary <br />design. <br />- After City's review of 75% PS&E submittal. This meeting will be used to discuss <br />City comments and to verify that the City's design criteria are being implemented <br />within the project plans. <br />Task 2 -Base Mapping and DTM <br />The City has provided a topographic survey of the area that will serve as a base. <br />Mountain Pacific Survey (MPS) will provide the following supplemental surveying: <br />- Location of the curb/pavement conforms at the northeast and southeast quadrants of the <br />intersection and the conform at the most easterly extent of the proposed improvements. <br />- The pavement area near the nose of the median relocation. <br />- Curb lane stripes on Valley Avenue on the West side of Santa Rita Road. <br />- Catch basin at the northeast corner and southeast corner of the intersection, a drop inlet <br />on the southeast corner of the intersection and 3 area drains in the landscaping on the <br />S:\Marketing\_Proposal & SOQ\Pleasanton\Santa Rita and Valley\Updated Letttt Proposal.doc <br />
