o Testing and Startup Activities The project team, supplementea when necessary by · other CH2M BILL technical staff, will provide assistance in organizing, coordinating, and over- seeing the testing activities. Work items related to this effort include the following: - Monitor the cleaning and flushing of all valves, tanks, pumps, and pipelines. - Monitor the prestressing operation. - ~Monitor pressure and water tests. Monitor mechanical and electrical tests. - .Field-check the control panels. o Contract Close-Out When the Contractor has substantially completed his work, he will request final acceptance in writing. A final inspection, arranged by the project manager, will be artended by the Con- tractor and appropriate City staff. The resident inspector will then prepare the final deficiency list and deliver it to the Contractor. The Contractor will correct the items on the final deficiency list and will submit a release of liens certifying that all of the Contractorts bills and obligations are paid and that he releases the City from all claims. A letter will also be required from the Contractorts surety company stating no objection to the final settlement with the Contractor. When all of the above has been accomplished, the construction inspector will recommend final acceptance and payment. Subtask 4C: Construction Surveying and Staking This task involves installation of horizontal and vertical control staking for the new reservoir site, transmission pipeline route, drainage pipeline route, access roadway, and bridge structure. The scope of work is based on the assump- tion that control staking will be installed initially for the Contractor~s use and that subsequent field staking to replace damaged stakes will be the responsibility of the Contractor or can be provided by CH2M HILL for an additional fee paid by the Contractor. This technique reduces the sur- veying fees paid by the City and avoids contractor abuse of the City supplied service. A-6
