Mayor & City Council <br />6. Approved Amendment No. 1 to the Employment Contract of City Manager Nelson Fialho <br />7. Approved the appointments to Pedestrian Bicycle. Committee: at-large members Ursula <br />Goldstein, Jeff Grell, William Rose and Melissa Ott for a two-year term, and <br />commission/committee members Jennifer Pearce, Jerry Pentin and Joe Jones <br />Jim VanDyke said a new group was formed called the P-Town Bike Advocates who comprise 30 <br />people and are working forming an affiliation with the East Bay Bike Coalition. He commended <br />Mike Tassano and Janis Stephen, said new routes are going in and requested completion of the <br />Iron Horse Trail, the master plan implemented as rapidly as possible, funding and more citizen <br />involvement. <br />Parks and Community Services <br />8. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute atwo-year contract with Bay Island <br />Officials Association in the amount of $76,570 to officiate youth and adult basketball and <br />volleyball games <br />9. Awarded and authorized the City Manager to execute a construction contract to Planned <br />Environments, Inc. in the amount of $213,369 for West Las Positas Median Island <br />Landscaping, Phase 1, Project No. 037042 <br />Planning <br />10. Accepted actions of the Zoning Administrator and Planning Commission <br />11. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute the fifth and sixth amendments to <br />the consultant contract with EIP Associates, a division of PBSJ, to prepare an <br />environmental impact report for the Staples Ranch project, PUD-57, PUD-67, PUD-68, <br />PUD-70 and PSP-11 <br />12. Waived second reading and adopted Ordinance No. 1964 approving an application for a <br />modification to the Development Agreement for Hacienda Business Park to extend the <br />agreement for afive-year period from 2008 to 2013 for nine properties within Phase I and <br />Phase II of the Park <br />Public Works <br />13. Approved and authorized the City Manager to excute as-needed service agreements with <br />Sycamore Landscaping Corporation and Tom Greene in an amount not to exceed <br />$100,000 each for the City's Weed Abatement Program <br />14. Public Hearing: Adopted Urgency Ordinance No. 1965 amending the Pleasanton <br />Municipal Code concerning the adoption of the 2007 Edition of the California Building <br />Standards Code (24 C.C.R), including by reference the 2006 International building, Fire, <br />Property Maintenance and existing Building Codes; the 2006 Uniform Codes for Plumbing <br />and Mechanical; and the 2006 National Electrical Code <br />City Council Minutes 2 December 4, 2007 <br />
