1 <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 4, 2007 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember Thorne led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Introductory Comments <br />Councilmember Thorne gave the following introductory comments: December 9"' Century <br />House Poetry Readings. Vanessa Kawaihau, who spent a lot of time in the Council Chambers <br />attending meetings and talking to the Council, recently passed away but will be remembered for <br />her passion and commitment to the community. In her memory, Vanessa's name has been <br />added to a plaque "In honor of those residents who served our community through their regular <br />attendance and valuable input at meetings of the Pleasanton City Council." He highlighted the <br />following military individuals in attendance that have or are currently serving in one of the <br />nation's current war zones: Shannan Pavier, Rob Alo, and Ron Parsley. He asked everyone to <br />take a moment of silence in memory of Specialist McGuinness who was recommended for the <br />Congressional Medal of Honor and all of those who have died for the country. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS: None <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Administrative Services <br />1. Adopted Resolution No. 07-157 accepting the Fiscal Year 2006-07 Year-End Financial <br />Report of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget and Amend the Fiscal Year <br />2006-07 CIP Budget <br />5. Adopted Resolution No. 07-158 approving the Pleasanton Downtown Business <br />Improvement District Advisory Board Report and Budget and declaring intent to levy the <br />assessment for 2008 and set a public hearing date for December 18, 2007 to levy the <br />annual assessment <br />
