No additional services may be performed <br /> without written authorization from the CLIENT. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 3 <br /> <br />Pa~vment to the CONSULTANT as prescribed in ARTICLE 2 is to <br />be made as follows: <br /> <br />Within 30 days after receipt of the invoice for the month <br />during which services on the project have been furnished, <br />payment shall be the full amount due, as prescribed in ARTI- <br />CLE 2, for such services rendered during the month. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 4 <br /> <br />It is further mutually agreed to by'the parties hereto: <br /> <br />A. That, the CONSULTANT will not begin work on any of the <br /> services li~ted in ARTICLE 1 until the CLIENT directs <br /> him in writing to proceed, that the work will be com- <br /> pleted in phases as described herein, and that a sepa- <br /> rate written authorization to proceed must be given for <br /> each phase of the work. <br /> <br />B. That, if ADDITIONAL SERVICES not specifically provided <br /> for in this AGREEMENT are to be performed, written ap- <br /> proval of the CLIENT must be given the CONSULTANT prior <br /> to beginning the work. <br /> <br />C. That the CONSULTANT'S salary costs are defined as the <br /> amount of wages or salaries of the ENGINEER'S employees <br /> working on the PROJECT, plus 41 (%) of such wages or <br /> salaries to cover all taxes, payments, and premiums <br /> measured by or applicable to such wages or salaries, <br /> such as, but not limited to, worker's compensation in- <br /> surance, Social Security, state and federal unemploy- <br /> ment insurance, medical-hospital insurance, salary <br /> continuation insurance, pension plan costs, and pro <br /> rate allowances for vacation, sick leave, and holiday <br /> pay. <br /> <br />D. That, the CONSULTANT'S direct expenses are defined as <br /> the costs incurred on or directly for the PROJECT, <br /> other than the salary costs (as defined hereinbefore}. <br /> Such direct expenses shall be computed on the basis of <br /> actual purchase price for items obtained from commer- <br /> cial sources and on the basis of usual commercial <br /> charges for items provided by the CONSULTANTS. Direct <br /> expenses shall include, but not be limited to, neces- <br /> sary transportation costs, including mileage at the <br /> rate of 32 cents per mile when the CONSULTANT'S own <br /> automobiles are used.
