^~~ Kimley-Horn Supplemental WeekdayM/eekend Traffic Analysis -Final Report
Illllll~ and Associates, inc. Home Depot, Pleasanton, CA
• Sat Pass-by Rate - 48%
• Sun Pass-by Rate - 48%
Weekend Project Trip Distribution and Assignment
The weekend project trip distribution for the Johnson Home Depot was assumed to be
similar to the existing weekday travel patterns observed in the field and was used for the
analysis. The weekend trip distribution has 58% of the trips originating north of the
project site, 12% originating west of the project site,10% originating east of the project
site, and 20% of the trips originating south of the project site.
CALIFORNIA SPLASH WATERSLIDE PARK
Proposed Site Use
It is proposed that the existing California Splash waterslide park be expanded to add
several more rides as described in the Shadow Cliffs Waterslide Park Expansion Traffic
Impact Study by TJKM Transportation Consultants in April 2002.
Weekend Project Trip Generation, Internal Capture, & Pass-by
Weekend trip generation was calculated based on information provided in the Shadow
Cliffs Waterslide Park Expansion Traffic Study. A study conducted by Fehr & Peers in
1997 for East Bay Regional Park District titled "Background Traffic Report" referenced in
the TJKM traffic study indicated that recreational traffic varies by day of the week with
Sundays having at least 18% more traffic than typical week days and 10% more than
Saturdays. These assumptions were applied to the combined AM and PM average day
data supplied in the Shadow Cliffs Waterslide Park Expansion Traffic Study to develop
Saturday and Sunday data. The existing waterslide trips were subtracted from the
projected waterslide trips when the park is expanded. Weekend trip generation was
based on the above discussions and is shown in Table 9. No internal capture or pass-
by reductions were assumed.
Table 9 -California Splash Weekend Trip Generation
Trips
LAND-.USE Saturday Sunday
Peak Hour -Peak Hour
In Out Total In Out Total
Expanded California Splash

Waterslide Park 422 310 732 468 345 813
Existing California Splash

Waterslide Park 168 123 291 186 137 323
Total New Trips 254 187 441 282 208 490
PleasantonHomeDepot08.FinalReport.doc 14 October 16, 2007
