See above; this is in progress.
• Consider use of Sunol-First-Stanley truck route and truck impacts on First St if this is
designated as a truck route.
"Delivery trucks "for purposes of the restrictions on the use of Pleasanton streets
will be defined as semi-tractor trailer 18-wheel trucks. The Municipal Code defines
"commercial vehicles" as vehicles over 3 tons which may use the City's truck route,
~a~hich is Szrnol Blvd., First St., and Stanley Blvd. Hoia~ever, by condition, "delivery
trucks" ~~~ill be restricted to only using Route 84 to Stanley Blvd. Additionally, staff
and Regency are working l~~ith the owner of the_former Hanson property to allow
these trucks to use El Charro Rd., a private street. Therefore, use of the Sunol-First-
Stanley route would not include these larger "delivery trucks, " so significant impacts
on First St. mould not be expected.
• Consider Livermore concerns with Rt. 84-Stanley truck route.
Route 84 is a State highway and trucks serving this site as well as any other property
may use it. As mentio~zed, the use of EZ Charro Rd. for delivery trucks may be
another option to the Livermore route. Hon~ever, trucks that are not specifically
defined as "delivery trucks" would be allowed to use the Sunol Blvd-First St.-Stanley
Blvd. option since this is a designated truck route per the Pleasanton Municipal
code.
• What can be done to limit truck delivery hours?
A condition of approval states that there shall be no truck deliveries and/or off-
loading of trucks and delivery vehicles betN~een the hours of 10: 00 pm and 9:00 am.
Another condition would prevent delivery trucks frrom entering the site during the
weekday afternoon peak hours of 4: 00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m., although trucks already on
site would be permitted to load/unload during that time. No delivery trucks would be
allol~~ed to enter to the site or load/unload on ~~~eekends after 8:00 p. m. on Fridays.
• Describe Hoene Depot's delivery service to customers. What types of trucks are used,
what is the frequency, and what are the delivery hours?
Response from Home Depot: Delivery is for special order items only. They come
front both the store and frrom the manufacturer's warehouse, depending on the type of
product. The types of truck also depend on the product and could be panel trucks or
flatbeds. Deliveries to customers would be per their normal delivery schedule.
Conditions of Ap~roval/Enforcement:
• Consider conditions of approval limiting delivery times/days of week. (Check with
other communities, e.g., Campbell.)
