Retirement <br /> <br /> During the term of this contract, the city shall continue to <br /> provide the PERS "credit for unused sick leave option" and to <br /> local misc,311aneous members Section 21382.2 1959 survivor <br /> benefits. <br /> <br /> Effective March 1, 1982, the City shall pay the employee's <br /> contribution to the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). <br /> The amount of said City payment shall equal, but not exceed <br /> seven percent (7%) of the employee's compensation subject to <br /> retirement contributions. <br /> <br /> For the one police clerk, and the supervising police clerk <br /> currently e~rolled in the Public Employees' Retirement System's <br /> "public sa£~ty retirement program," the City shall pay their <br /> contributiol~ to PERS. The amount of said City payment shall <br /> equal but not exceed nine percent (9%) of the employee's <br /> compensation subject to retirement contribution. In <br /> recognition of this higher contribution by the City, the base <br /> monthly salaries paid these three employees, effective March 1, <br /> 1986 shall be adjusted to provide the following: <br /> <br /> Police Clerk (1) $2419 <br /> Supv. Police Clerk (1) $2786 <br /> <br />Section 16. Uniforms <br /> <br /> The City shall provide all necessary safety and protective <br /> clothing, as defined by the City Manager. The City shall <br /> provide fifty percent (50%) of the initial purchase price of <br /> uniforms for those Police and Fire Department employees <br /> required to wear a prescribed uniform. <br /> <br />16.1 Uniform Allowance <br /> <br /> The annual uniform allowance paid to employees in the <br /> classification of property and evidence technician (police), <br /> senior office assistant (police), police clerk, senior police <br /> clerk, supervising police clerk, senior animal control officer, <br /> fire inspector, and chemical specialist (fire) shall be two <br /> hundred sixty dollars ($260.00) per year and shall be paid in <br /> one payment in April. <br /> <br />16.2 Reimbursement for Damaged or Destroyed Personal Clothing <br /> <br /> Exclusive of normal wear and tear, the City will reimburse <br /> employees for the reasonable repair or replacement of their <br /> personal clothing seriously damaged or destroyed in the <br /> performance of assigned duties; provided, however, no such <br /> reimbursement shall be made if the article(s) of clothing <br /> <br /> - 22 - <br /> <br /> <br />
