damaged or destroyed is inappropriate for the workplace; <br /> damaged or destroyed as a result of the improper performance of <br /> the assigned work; damaged or destroyed as a result of an <br /> industrial injury the latter reimbursable under the city <br /> worker's compensation insurance program. <br /> <br />Section 17. Credit Union <br /> <br /> The City shall implement a voluntary payroll deduction option <br /> for those employees who wish to join the Cit-y~ and County <br /> Employees Credit Union for the purpose of transacting business <br /> with such City and County Employees Credit Union. <br /> <br />Section 18. Deferred Compensation Plan <br /> <br /> The City shall implement a deferred compensation plan provided, <br /> however, ten percent (10%) of the PCEA membership agree to <br /> participate in said plan. If at any time participation in said <br /> plan falls below ten percent (10%) of the PCEA membership, the <br /> City may at its discretion, discontinue said plan at the <br /> conclusion of the calendar year. <br /> <br />Section 19. Educational Incentive Pay Program <br /> <br />19.1 Purpose <br /> <br /> The purpose of this plan is to reward those eligible employees <br /> having obtained a specific level of educational achievement in <br /> an area related to their job and, in so doing, have become <br /> better qualified to discharge the duties of their respective <br /> positions. <br /> <br />19.2 Eligible Applicants <br /> <br /> Persons eligible to enroll in the Educational Incentive Plan <br /> have met all of the following requirements: <br /> <br /> A. Are permanent (non-probationary) employees with the City <br /> of Pleasanton. (Employees on probationary status as a <br /> result of promotions shall be deemed eligible under this <br /> plan.) <br /> <br /> B. Have met all requirements of their position as set forth <br /> in the City's Classification Plan in effect at the time <br /> the employee was hired. <br /> <br /> C. Intend to pursue an educational level related to his/her <br /> present position as determined by the Educational <br /> Standards Committee. <br /> <br /> D. All new employees hired by the City after the date of <br /> adoption by the City Council of this revised Educational <br /> Incentive Plan shall be eligible for educational incentive <br /> pay for eligible degrees or college credits earned prior <br /> to their date of employment at the time they reach the top <br /> step of their classification's salary range. <br /> <br /> - 23 - <br /> <br /> <br />
