o Provide aerial photography at scales of '1"=200'
and 1"=400'

o Establish survey control on aerial targets for
mapping control and for future use in gathering
data for design. Horizontal control will be based
on the California State Plane Coordinate System,
Zone 3. The vertical control will be based on the
National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (sea
level datum).

o Mapping will be compiled at a scale of 1"=50' with
a 1-foot contour interval and in conformance with
Caltrans' standards and design requirements.

o Prepare drafted topographic base sheets to be used
for the Geometric Base Maps and Layout plans for
Preliminary P,S&E. The Scale will be 1"= 50' with
a 1-foot contour interval.

Task 3-6: Surveying

Determine availability of Caltrans and U.S.C. and G.S. monu-
ments. Both the horizontal and vertical survey controls for
the aerial targets for the mapping will be completed. Also,
a topographic survey will be performed to supplement the
topographic basemapping where necessary. This topographic
survey will include such things as inverts and top of grates
of drainage inlets, flow lines of ditches where necessary,
trees, etc. The surveys will be tied to either Caltrans or
U.S.C. and G.S. monuments where possible. The survey rates
will be prepared in a format acceptable to Caltrans and for
use in Resident Engineer's File.

12
