Task 3-7: Right-of-Way Engineering Obtain Caltrans Right-of-Way Maps and assessor parcel maps of the areas adjacent to 1-580 and the interchange areas. Once the project geometrics and right-of-way requirements have been determined, prepare plats and descriptions for the parcels or partial takes required. All plots and descrip- tions will be prepared according to Caltrans format in order to receive timely certification of the Right-of-Way from them. Task 3-8: Geotechnical Explorations The geotechnical work items are as follows: o Obtain and review existing available geotechnical reports, geological maps, and reports for the ex- isting structures and roadways in the area. o Obtain from Caltrans the soils investigation data from their borings or test pits located within Caltrans' right-of-way. o Develop a soils exploration program in conformance with Caltrans requirements. This will include the drilling of field borings to view soil conditions and obtain samples for laboratory analyses. o Coordinate laboratory analyses to determine the necessary physical properties of selected samples. o Perform engineering analyses, including considera- tion of bearing pressures, settlement, seismicity, earthwork and compaction, site preparation require- ments, pavement structural sections, and corrosion potential. 13
