requested by the CONSULTANT to expedite reviews and appro- <br />vals, and to resolve conflicts with Caltrans and other gov- <br />ernmental agencies. <br /> <br />Task 1-4: Permit Application <br /> <br />CONSULTANT will identify permits required for the construc- <br />tion required for the construction of the PROJECT. Permit <br />applications that could potentially delay the project <br />Initiation of the application for these will be initiated as <br />part of the work described in the AMENDMENT. A maximum of <br />eighty (80) hours has been allocated for the initiation of <br />permit applications. Effort beyond this allocation will be <br />considered extra work. <br /> <br />TASK 2: QUALITY CONTROL AND VALUE ENGINEERING <br /> <br />Quality control and Value Engineering meetings will be held. <br />The Quality control will include formal meetings to review <br />major project deliverables prior to submittal to Caltrans. <br />In addition, consultation will be requested from individual <br />quality control team members to review interim reports, <br />calculations, and drawings. <br /> <br />Value engineering will be included as part of the project to <br />compare the cost of major elements of the project with their <br />value to the overall design. The purpose of the value engi- <br />neering task will be to identify cost reduction measures <br />that do not compromise the quality of the project. <br /> <br />Task 2-1: Quality Control Meetings <br /> <br />A total of two (2) Quality Control (QC) meetings will be <br />required for the Preliminary Design portion of the Project. <br />The QC meetings will be attended by up to five (5) senior <br /> <br /> <br />
