Laboratory and a scattering of rural homes to the west of the
lab. Although the broad valley floor is bisected by Highway 84,
the area should be planned as a cohesive unit under one
jurisdiction. There has been no determination of the development
or recreation potential of the area; however, it is part of the
future Expanded Planning Area specific studies planned in
Pleasanton's General Plan. Since Pleasanton is the closest full
service City and has already included the areas north of Highway
84 in its Planning Area, it is logical that the City should also
have influence over the southern portion of the Valley.

6. PLEA8ANTON RIDGE 8OUTH

In the last several years there have been numerous development
proposals for this area just south of Castlewood Country Club.
The City already provides water service to the area and police
and fire service in emergency situations. Sewerage service is
likely to be provided by the City. This area is historically
related to Pleasanton, its closest city. It is contiguous to the
present sphere-of-influence. The ridge forms an important part
of the viewshed from the City. It makes sense, therefore, to
include this area within Pleasanton's sphere-of-influence.

7.
