this area in conjunction with retention and enhancement of the <br />Vineyards. Whatever the outcome, however, this area is one <br />contiguous unit likely to share a common development pattern and <br />should be added to Pleasanton's sphere-of-influence. <br /> <br />4. SOUTHEAST PLEASANTON HILLS <br /> <br />Pleasanton's current sphere-of-influence does-not extend far into <br />the hilly region directly southeast of the City even though this <br />rangeland has historically been associated with the Pleasanton <br />community. About 70% of the area is presently designated as open <br />space for public health and safety in the Pleasanton General <br />Plan, with rural density residential uses permitted on the lower <br />slopes and flatter northern portions. <br /> <br />Large portions of this area are for sale at this time, including <br />the large Foley ranch. Since this area is directly adjacent to <br />the City and sale of property in the area could ultimately lead <br />to development proposals, it is logical to include this area in <br />Pleasanton's sphere. <br /> <br /> 5. 8UNOL-VALLEClT08 VALLEY <br /> <br /> Presently, the Vallecitos Valley area is primarily open and <br /> undeveloped except for the town of Sunol, the Vallecitos Atomic <br /> <br /> - 2a - <br /> <br /> <br />
