o The design elements of the project as defined herein will be assembled into one construction contract document package for one bid period; how- ever, this does not preclude development of stage construction within the contract. If the work is to be divided into two or more construction con- tract packages and/or if more than one bidding period is used, the associated required work will be considered as extra work. o The CONSULTANT will be responsible for obtaining permits to construct the project and perform nec- essary work in execution of this AMENDMENT. The City will provide timely assistance if requested by the CONSULTANT and pay all fees to acquire the permits. o At this stage of project development, it is antic- ipated that no major utility relocation work will be required and, therefore, no major utility work is included. o The CONSULTANT will closely coordinate work with the City's engineering staff or its designated representative. o The work will conform to the current standards of Caltrans and the City in effect on the date of execution of this AMENDMENT. Upon receipt of Cal- trans design directives the CONSULTANT shall de- termine within ten (10) working days the effect that such changes will have on completed and re- maining work contained in this AMENDMENT and notify the City. Changes, deletions and additions to these standard documents may be cause for extra work to meet the new requirements.
