EXHIBIT "2-A" <br /> <br /> AMENDMENT NO. 2 <br /> STONERIDGE DRIVE INTERCHANGE <br /> ON 1-680 <br /> PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton, through the North Pleasanton Improve- <br />ment District (NPID), is proposing to finance and construct <br />major improvements to the existing overcrossing of Inter- <br />state Route 680 at Stoneridge Drive. The proposed improve- <br />ments are more specifically shown on the preliminary plans <br />and other material produced under AMENDMENT NO. 1 to the <br />AGREEMENT and generally include: <br /> <br /> o Modifying the existing overcrossing structure to <br /> provide one additional eastbound traffic lane on <br /> Stoneridge Drive. <br /> <br /> o Constructing freeway ramps to connect Stoneridge <br /> Drive to 1-680 including bridge structures over <br /> the Alamo Canal. <br /> <br /> o Constructing freeway auxiliary lanes on both sides <br /> of 1-680 from Stoneridge Drive to the 1-580/I-680 <br /> interchange. <br /> <br />Conceptual geometrics of the proposed improvements have been <br />developed in previous studies and have been approved by Cal- <br />trans. The preliminary design and design reports for a por- <br />tion of the proposed improvements have been prepared by the <br />CONSULTANT under AMENDMENT No. 1 to the AGREEMENT but have <br />not been approved by Caltrans at the date of execution of <br />this AMENDMENT. <br /> <br />The purpose of this AMENDMENT is to develop the final design <br />of the improvements; prepare the plans, specifications, and <br />estimate (PS&E); submit the PS&E to the City and Caltrans <br />for review and approval; prepare the final construction bid- <br />ding documents; and assist the City during bidding. <br /> <br />The following assumptions apply to the project and the work <br />included in this AMENDMENT: <br /> <br /> o The project design and the resulting products will <br /> be subject to review by the City, Caltrans, and <br /> FHWA, all of whom must approve the project plans. <br /> <br /> <br />
