proposed area is a fire-risk concern. Mr. Roberts advised that as a hiker, he would prefer to be in an area <br />other than a canyon. <br />Marty Tnderbitzen 4218 Casterson Court (Linn family representative) -believes that this is a spectacular <br />piece of property and the project will add to the area. In trying to follow the General Plan and allow for <br />all open space to be readily available to the public, Mr. Inderbitzen advised that his client has been trying <br />to meet and accommodate as many of the public concerns as possible. He advised that his client is trying <br />to meet as many concerns as possible and provide the best project for the community. He believes that the <br />recent addition of Alternative 5 is the best compromise, and gives it full support. <br />Inge Jechart 581 Happy Valley Road -supports Alternative 5, and understands the concerns of the <br />neighbors. She didn't believe the community should be punished for the problems caused by a few youth. <br />She suggested giving the youth their own center. <br />The meeting was closed for public comments. <br />Comments made by members of the Trails Ad Hoc Committee included: <br />• Concur with and support Alternative 5 <br />,~. • Stay with a staging area by the water tank - •. <br />~ Utilize fencing to keep access away from homeowners <br />• Mitigate traffic issues <br />• Understand neighbor concerns, but believe that inclusion of the staging area might help <br />eliminate some of the problems <br />• Including a gate will not help keep people out of the area <br />Comments made by members of the Parks and Recreation Commission: <br />• Concur with the Trails Ad Hoc Committee and support Alternative 5 <br />• Understands neighbor concerns about youth using the area, but believe these types of <br />concerns are normal for many areas <br />• Concerns about placement of trails in steep areas <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes and Trails Ad Hoc Committee Joint Workshop <br />January 11, 2007 <br />Page 4 <br />
