I STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Staff responsibilities for the implementation and administration <br />of the City's affirmative action plan are as follows: <br /> <br />A. CITY MANAGER: As the City's chief executive officer, the <br /> City Manager, through his/her subordinate staff shall <br /> exercise overall management responsibility for the <br /> implementation and administration of the affirmative action <br /> plan. These overall responsibilities include: <br /> <br /> 1. To communicate throughout the organization his/her <br /> support for and commitment to the policy of equal <br /> employment opportunity. <br /> <br /> 2. To define clearly staff responsibility for affirmative <br /> action. <br /> <br /> 3. To insure staff members having affirmative action <br /> responsibilities have the necessary authority to carry <br /> out those responsibilities. <br /> <br /> 4. To lend the support of his/her office to the goals of <br /> affirmative action. <br /> <br />B. DIRECTOR OF P~RSONNEL: Under the direction of the City <br /> Manager to exercise principal responsibility for the <br /> implementation and administration of the affirmative action <br /> plan to include: <br /> <br /> 1. To develop equal employment opportunity policies, <br /> guidelLnes and programs. <br /> <br /> 2. To insure the City of Pleasanton operates within those <br /> policies, guidelines and programs. <br /> <br /> 3. To communicate both internally and externally the <br /> principles and policies set forth in the City's <br /> affirmative action plan. <br /> <br /> 4. To exercise principal staff responsibility for the <br /> achievement of those goals and objectives set forth <br /> within the affirmative action plan. <br /> <br /> 5.
