VI RECORD KEEPING AND MONITORING <br /> <br />To facilitate the evaluation of the affirmative action plan the <br />City will implement and maintain the record keeping and <br />monitoring system set forth in this section of the affirmative <br />action plan. The purpose of the record keeping system is to <br />assess the results of past actions, trends, goals and objectives, <br />the effectiveness of programs to meet goals and objectives; and <br />to identify problems and to suggest solutions. <br /> <br />The records maintained shall be the basis for updating the <br />affirmative action plan to include revising the availability <br />data, and the goals and timetables. <br /> <br />The record keeping system is divided into two categories of data: <br />applicant data and employee data. <br /> <br />A. APPLICANT DATA <br /> <br /> The applicant data collected will permit the City to do the <br /> following: <br /> <br /> obtain applicant residency data to further define the <br /> City's recruitment areas; <br /> <br /> · determine if the City's recruitment techniques are <br /> effective; <br /> <br /> identify'the most effective referral sources; <br /> <br /> determine if an applicant pool, at any stage in the <br /> selection process, is equal to or greater than <br /> availability as set forth in the affirmative action <br /> plan; <br /> <br /> · identify if a selection procedure has an adverse impact <br /> on any sex or race/ethnic group; <br /> <br /> identify which component of a selection procedure is <br /> creating the adverse impact and how sever the problem <br /> is. <br /> <br /> LHM/kh(kaffirm) <br /> ~/87 <br /> <br /> <br />
