<br />of Pleasanton's golf course and the development. He also thanked the members of <br />the Happy Valley Blue Ribbon Committee and staff for their continued diligence to <br />work out an alignment for the final section of the by-pass road. <br /> <br />Fred Norman addressed the City Council regarding his prior request to have a moment <br />of silence at the beginning of City Council Meetings. He commented on the continued <br />loss of troops in Iraq. <br /> <br />Charles Clark addressed the City Council regarding Item 4g, conflicts of interest. He <br />commented that one of the members of the Council does business with one of the <br />organizations that does business with the city. He feels that is a conflict of interest and <br />now that person is running for Mayor. He expressed concern that this issue is not <br />being addressed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Brozosky responded that his company sells customer service software <br />to government agencies. He explained his relationships with the City of Livermore <br />Airport and WHEELS Bus System, and advised that the software was provided at no <br />cost and that there are no financial interests involved. <br /> <br />Howard Neely addressed City Council regarding the upcoming election and local <br />candidates on the ballot. He urged the community to consider which candidates will <br />be long-term thinkers. He commented on traffic in Pleasanton and the need for better <br />enforcement and planning. <br /> <br />Audrey DeHart voiced concerns about the speeding and safety of children, and the <br />noise on Stanley Boulevard. She expressed opposition to putting in an extra lane on <br />Stanley. <br /> <br />Mr. Tassano commented on the proposed two-way left turn lane on Stanley. He noted <br />that it would be used to move vehicles out of the lane of traffic whiling waiting for an <br />appropriate gap in traffic to make the turn. <br /> <br />City Manager Fialho noted staff is developing concept plans for the roadway, including <br />the sidewalk. When the City is ready to make that plan public the community will be <br />invited to participate. <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman commented there are problems with speeding and traffic throughout <br />Pleasanton. There have been two tragic accidents recently and she shared with the <br />community the necessity for people to take responsibility for their own driving habits. <br /> <br />Council member Brozosky noted concerns with the safety of kids and people speeding <br />which is a major problem throughout the community. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />6a. Approved Guidelines for Future Senior Housing Development with the modification to <br />increase the minimum age to 62 and on a case-by-case basis for projects with a <br />minimum age of 55 years of age (SR 06:234) <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Bocian gave an overview of the guidelines in the staff report <br />and recommended that Council approve them as preferred features in any future <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />October 17, 2006 <br />
