<br />Vanessa Kawaihau, a Happy Valley resident, stated she supported a solar project and <br />the options that were reflected in the staff report. She suggested the City place a demonstration <br />project at the golf course and requested the school liaison begin a solar project in the schools. <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan thanked staff for its efforts in moving this project forward. He supported <br />options 3, 4, and 5 as reflected in the staff report. He believed this project was great for the <br />City's economic development and believed Pleasanton residents are interested in the program. <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman thanked Vice Mayor Sullivan for bringing the GRID Alternatives to the <br />City as the program has enabled the City to install PVon homes in the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Thorne stated he supported option 1 and would like to partner with the City of <br />Livermore. He believed the project should be reviewed from an economic development point of <br />view to attract clean technology and additional businesses into the City. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mr. Brozosky, for the City to consider <br />options in support of Photovoltaic Project activities, as reflected in options one, two and <br />three of the staff report. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was taken as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, Sullivan, Thorne, and Mayor Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: McGovern <br />ABSTAINED: None <br /> <br />6d <br />PRZ-13. (SR 06:089) <br /> <br />Jerry Iserson, Director of Planning and Community Development, presented the staff <br />report. <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky inquired about the 50-point system and wondered if the guidelines would <br />continue to change. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson responded that the Ordinance indicates 50 points are needed and unless the <br />Ordinance was changed, 50 points were the minimum. <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky questioned the Title 24 changes and how often the State changes its <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson responded infrequently. Major changes are not made on a regular basis. <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky asked if the City was trying to set a bar. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson said that the Waste Management Authority recently modified the green point <br />system as it recognized the Title 24 changes made at the State level impacted the green point <br />guidelines. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council <br />Minutes <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />03/21/06 <br />
