MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Mr. Brozosky presented a commendation to Aliya Deri the First Place Winner of the 2005 San
Francisco Chronicle Regional Spelling Bee.

Mr. Brozosky proclaimed May I thru May 8, 2005 as "Days of Remembrance" in the City of
Pleasanton.

Mr. Brozosky proclaimed April 25 thru May 1, 2005 as "VVest Nile Virus/Mosquito and Vector
Control Awareness Week" in the City of Pleasanton.

Steve Cusenza invited Council and the Community to the Earth Day activities and gave a
presentation regarding the City of Pleasanton and Zone 7's sponsored event.

Other Speakers

Vanessa Kawaihau, a Happy Valley Resident, addressed Council regarding projects that had been
brought to the Planning Commission on several occasions, which continue to be denied. Ms. Kawaihau
indicated that the City of Pleasanton has ignored its responsibility to mitigate traffic for the golf course
project. The City agreed to condition the annexation of the golf course property and she believed the City
should work with the County to close the road. Ms. Kawaihau believed the golf course would generate
286 cars during the A.M. and P.M. hours. She indicated that on her street in 2001, the City's traffic report
stated there were 700 cars at the intersection of Sycamore and Sycamore Creek Road. Ms. Kawaihau
was concerned about how the golf course traffic would impact the intersection with the closure of Happy
Valley Road. Since the City was not exactly following through with the resolution to study only the upper
bypass road, she believed the City should treat the County of Alameda the same way and ignore the
agreement to keep Happy Valley Road open and retain a complete circulation for traffic.
