If Council directed staff to proceed with a public restroom facility at Delucchi
Park, Mr. Fialho said staff would work to get it done and bring back a conceptual design
and design specifications as soon as possible. He pointed out that the public restroom
facilities that are included in the Downtown Trails Master Plan are conceptual in terms of
location and size. Therefore, he suggested that Council consider all three potential
sites, which would include the location, the size and the elements, and at that point in
time, Council could make a decision as to where it wanted to locate public restroom
facilities.

Mr. Sullivan concurred with Mr. Fialho's suggestion. He was not sure that
Delucchi Park or Lions Wayside Park are the proper locations for public restroom
facilities.

Ms. McGovern noted that the Firehouse Arts Center proiect would take longer to
complete than constructing a public restroom facility at Delucchi Park. She stated that
she would like to have a public restroom facility constructed within one year. She asked
if the motion included diaper-changing stations?

Mayor Hosterman said yes.

Mr. Fialho clarified that part of what staff would bring back to Council is options,
construction estimates and a construction timeline for each of the alternatives.

Mr. Sullivan requested that staff provide some type of conceptual description for
each location.

Ms. McGovern requested staff to consider four different areas throughout the
downtown so that they are spread out.

The roll call vote was taken as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovem, Sullivan, and
Mayor Hosterman
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

It was moved by Mr. Brozosky, seconded by Mr. Sullivan, to adopt
Resolution 05-013, a resolution accepting the design review application subject to
the conditions of approval, with the removal of the public restroom facility.

The roll call vote was taken as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, and
Mayor Hosterman
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

There was a break at 8:52 p.m.

The meeting reconvened at 9:01 p.m.

Pleasanton City Council 11 03/01/05
Minutes
