Aooointment of City Council Representative to the Tri-Valley Highway Planninq Study (SR 05:015) Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works, presented the staff report. Mayor Hosterman noted that the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency had originally suggested that the committee be comprised of all three Mayors in the Tri-Valley area as well as two county supervisors representing the Livermore Valley. In addition, the Alameda Congestion Management Agency asked that each Mayor appoint one additional councilmember to this Committee. She has appointed Ms. McGovern to serve on this Committee with her, and Ms. McGovern has accepted the appointment. It was moved by Mayor Hosterman, seconded by Mr. Sullivan, to adopt Resolution 05-002, a resolution ratifying the Mayor's appointment of Ms. McGovern (in addition to the Mayor) as the councilmember representative to the Tri-Valley Highway Planning Study Policy Oversight Committee. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, and Mayor Hosterman NOES: None ABSENT: None -- ABSTAIN: None In response to an inquiry by Mr. Brozosky, Mayor Hosterman stated that this Committee would begin meeting on January 31, 2005. Mayor Hosterman reminded Council that at its last meeting, it had a discussion regarding committee assignments. She had previously designated herself as one of the Council representatives to the School District Liaison Committee. She was unable to attend the Committee meeting in December and asked Ms. McGovem to attend. She mentioned that she was impressed with Ms. McGovern's level of expertise and understanding of the issues and believed she would be invaluable on this Committee. She asked Ms. McGovern her to take her place as the representative to the School District Liaison Committee and to continue to serve on this committee. Ms. McGovern accepted the appointment. Mr. Roush suggested that Council consider this as an item under Matters Initiated by Council. Staff will agendize this matter for January 18, 2005. 7. MA'FI'ERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL Mr. Brozosky asked for a status update on the easements for the GE property. Mr. Roush said this matter would be discussed with Council in Closed Session on January 18, 2005. The discussion with Council will be to discuss potential litigation concerning golf course related issues and one of these issues would be discussion of the potential acquisition of easements with respect to the GE property.
