Mr. Sullivan asked staff how this would affect the infrastructure costs if the sports
fields were relocated?

Mr. Wolfe said the particular location that was selected for the sports fields was
partially infrastructure driven. It was also the consensus of the Task Force, the Sports
Council, and the Parks and Recreation Commission that the current largest deficiency is
for baseball fields and since this is where the baseball fields were planned for on the
site, it provided the closest area nearest to the infrastructure.

Mr. Fialho believed Council needed to commit to the location of the sports fields
now so that as bid documents are prepared, staff is aware of what it is bidding in terms
of location, linear feet of sewer and water, etc. He pointed out that a greater amount of
flexibility is available with the remainder of the community park.

Mr. Sullivan said he felt comfortable with committing to the location of the sports
fields now as opposed to later.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, and Mayor
Hosterman
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

By Council consensus, Council discussion regarding the five site plan
alternatives for the "Central Area" of the 318-acre City-owned Bernal Property
Phase II Specific Plan Area was continued to February 1, 2005.

Mr. Sullivan requested copies of the noise studies that have been conducted that
evaluate the different locations of the amphitheater.

Mr. Brozosky asked that this item be heard early in the meeting.

Item 6d
General Plan Update Status Report (SR 05:014)

This item was continued to 01/18/05.

Item 6e
2003-04 Fiscal Year-End Financial Report (Capital Improvement Proqrem)
(SR 05:017)

This item was continued to 1/18/05.

6f
First Quarter 2004-05 Financial Report (Operatin¢I Bud(let) (SR 05:018)

This item was continued to 1/18/05

Pleasanton City Council 22 01/04/05
Minutes
