Pat Murray, a representative of the Tulancingo Sister City Committee, invited
everyone to attend the second annual "Posada" hosted by the Tulancingo Sister City
Committee to be held at the Veterans Memorial Hall on Sunday, December 12 from 7 to
8p.m.

Margo Tarver, a Pleasanton resident, congratulated Mayor Hosterman for being
elected as the City's first woman Mayor. She extended congratulations to Ms.
McGovern and Mr. Sullivan for being elected to the Council. She thanked former
Councilmember Mr. Campbell and outgoing Mayor Pico for their dedication and years of
service to the community. She also thanked City staff and former City Manager Ms.
McKeehan for serving the community.

Vanessa Kawaihau, a Happy Valley resident, addressed Council regarding the
Callippe Preserve Golf Course poles and driving range. The removal of the southern
most poles is a vast improvement. The visibility of the remaining 24 poles and the full
height of the 80-foot poles and netting is a horrible sight and no amount of trees will hide
it. She pointed out that no houses in the Happy Valley Specific Plan would be high
enough because of a 30-foot height limit. She encouraged Council to consider an
alternate solution to the problem.

Dennis Boegel, a Pleasanton resident, reminded Council to comment on the
proclamation in remembrance of Pearl Harbor Day.

Mayor Hosterman read the proclamation declaring December 7, 2004 as "Pearl
Harbor Remembrance Day~ in the City of Pleasanton.

There were no other speakers.
8. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTER~

8_.~a
Options concerninq City Council vacancy including callincI for a Special Election
on June 7, 2005. (SR 04:300)

Michael Roush, City Attorney, presented the staff report.

Mayor Hosterman invited public comments.

Mary Roberts, a Pleasanton resident, asked Council to consider agendizing a
discussion regarding the municipal code pertaining to the requirement that campaign
contributions in the amount of $25 or more must be disclosed.

Mayor Hosterman closed the public comments.

Mr. Brozosky supported holding a Special Election. He did not support amending
the ordinance to allow the Council to appoint a person to serve until the date of the
special election or repealing the ordinance thereby allowing the Council to appoint a
person to serve the remainder of Ms. Hosterman's term.

Pleasanton City Council 6 12/07/04
Minutes
