She would like for the BMX Park to have a beginners area and a <br />challenging area for the more experienced riders. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brozosky, seconded by Ms. McGovern, to review the <br />bids received and award a contract for the construction of the BMX riding facility <br />to the firm of Blossom Valley Landscape, Inc. for a cost of $171,885; to authorize <br />the transfer of $71,885 to this project from the Suffer Gate Park Phase II <br />Expansion project, ClP No. 047016; to authorize staff to defer the median island <br />landscaping portion of the project until some future date; and to authorize the City <br />Manager to execute the Agreement. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, and <br /> Mayor Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 8f <br />California Department of Conservation's Division of Recyclin,q Grant Proqram <br />Implementation 2004-05. (SR 04:301) <br /> <br /> Jacqui Diaz, Assistant to the City Manager, presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky asked if the Service Club is responsible for bringing the recyclables <br />to the recycle station? <br /> <br /> Ms. Diaz said the recycling containers would be located throughout the school <br />campus and then hauled into one location for the Pleasanton Garbage Service to pick up <br />on a regular basis. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky asked if the grant is paying for the equipment or the operations? <br /> Ms. Diaz said that the grant is able to pay for the actual containers. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern asked staff if it had applied for a grant at a specific site so that <br />another $18,000 could be provided if another school wanted to participate? <br /> <br /> Ms. Diaz said this is a formula grant and each City is given an allotment. The <br />State informs the City as to the amount it is given. Each City may create a program <br />within its community as to how to utilize these funds. She noted that a requirement of <br />receiving the grant is to provide the State with solid recycled data within one year. <br /> <br /> There were no public comments. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Me.
