The roll call vote wes es follows:
AYES: Council members - Ayala, Brozosky, Campbell, Hosterman, and

Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Mr. Brozosky said the civic center has been discussed by the previous Council,
but he has never been involved with the concepts. He suggested a workshop for the
new Council to discuss what the city is trying to accomplish. He did not think there was
much progress and not much buy-in by the community. There is no hurry with the
design of the civic center, especially since there are no funds to build it soon.

Ms. Ayala felt a workshop in January would be agreeable.

Ms. Hosterman agreed to wait for the new Council to be installed.

Mr. Pico wanted to make a decision on the signage issues at the next meeting.
Site plan concepts could be saved for the next City Council.

Mr. Roush indicated Mr. Bocian will not be available at the next Council meeting
on October 19, so the signage issues will be moved to the first meeting in November and
item 6d, the site plan concept for the civic center, will be continued indefinitely until after
a workshop.

Mr. Brozosky wanted to review the new material presented in this packet and he
preferred to have Mr. Bocian present that information and to answer questions.

The consensus was to hear the matter November 2.

Ms. Hosterman asked for Council support to send a letter to Mr. Dufield at
PeopleSoft expressing the City support for PeopleSoft's corporate integrity, its
employees and the City's desire to continue its relationship as corporate home to
PeopleSoft.

Mr. Brozosky indicated PeopleSoft was negotiating with Oracle on a possible buy
out. He did not thing a letter was appropriate at this point.

Ms. Hosterman disagreed. She felt a letter from the Mayor or the entire Council
in support of one of Pleasanton's largest corporations was appropriate.

Ms. Ayala and Mr. Campbell agreed with sending a letter from the Mayor.

Mr. Brozosky referred to the opening of Kohl's and felt that shopping center was
really coming together well.

Pleasanton City Council 23 10/05/04
Minutes
