6. PUBLIC HEARING AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />a. Weed Abatement Program 2004 (SR 04:079) <br />Councilmember grozosky abstained on this matter. <br /> <br />Chief Stewart Gary presented the staff report. At the request of Ms. Hosterman, Chief <br />Gary addressed some of the possible natural ways for property owners to control the <br />growth of weeds on property, including natural landscaping and pruning. <br /> <br />Mayor Pico opened the public hearing. There were no speakers and the public heating <br />was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Ms. Ayain, seconded by Ms. ltosterman, to Adopt Resolution No. <br />04-014 approving the 2004 Weed Abatement Program and authorizing the <br />abatement of weeds, rubbish or refuse upon or in front of certain described <br />properties within the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was taken as follows: <br />AYES: Couneilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Hosterman and Mayor Pieo <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Couneilmember Brozosky <br /> <br />b. Proposed Revision to City Policy for Naming Public Facilities (SR 04:089) <br /> <br />Jim Wolfe presented the staff report and a PowerPoint presentation. <br /> <br />Ms. Hosterman thanked the Parks and Recreation Commission members for its work and <br />the recommendations brought before the City Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky felt the work of the Parks and Recreation Commission was very thorough <br />and the proposed policy presented in the staffreport is excellent. <br /> <br />Mayor Pico asked for public comment.
