Ms. Ayala would like to be given the oppommity to read the ballot measure in its
entirety. She suggested making this request at the next meeting under Matters Initiated by
Council. She was anxious to see if the State would follow through with proposed cuts
and would not support any initiative that would increase taxes unless cuts were made.

Ms. Hosterman pointed out that this ballot measure does not raise taxes.

Ms. Ayala asked staff to provide Council copies of the ballot measure and
resolution of support in its weekly mail packets.

Mr. Brozosky inquired about the process for the General Plan and traffic
workshops.

Ms. McKeehan believed several more workshops were needed in order to fully
discuss all of the issues related to traffic. To get the land use process started, staff is
considering the idea of holding another workshop to discuss traffic, then a workshop to
discuss land use, and then coming back to finish up discussions on traffic related issues.

Ms. Ayala referenced Ms. Fox's comments related to the process that the
Planning Commission would be taking, and asked for confirmation regarding staff's
recommendations.

Ms. McKeehan indicated that the Planning Commission needed to start
somewhere, and in order to help the Commission through this process; staff proposed to
identify the issues and have the Commission react to them.

Ms. Ayala asked if the Planning Commission would concentrate on traffic and
land use first?

Ms. McKeehan said yes.

Ms. Ayala asked who received notification for the Council's Workshop on traffic
related issues.

Ms. McKeehan said the noticing list was large.

Ms. Ayala asked if the notification was sporadic?

Ms. McKeehan reported that a significant number of residents were provided
public notices for the workshop, some of which were individuals who had indicated
concern in the past.

Mr. Brozosky asked when the next Council workshop was scheduled for traffic
related issues.

Pleasanton City Council 30
Minutas

01/20/04
