Ms. McKeehan could not recall the exact date. She pointed out that Council had a <br />number of workshops scheduled throut~h the month of April. She reminded Council of <br />its workshop scheduled for January 27 regarding workers compensation. The intent of <br />the workshop is to focus on what is currently happening with workers compensation in <br />the State of California, educate the public about the system and how it works, and to <br />discuss issues from a public perspective, which have been identified by the Chamber of <br />Commerce for private business. Staffwill provide detailed information about the City's <br />program, what its experience has been, and provide changes that Council could consider <br />to be made to the existing laws. The intent of the workshop is not to look for the abuses. <br />She reported that the workshop for Council priorities would be held in the month of <br />March. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala reminded the public about the Bemal Block Party, which would be <br />held on Saturday, April 17 fi.om 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. <br /> <br />8. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />The Closed Session was held before the meeting. <br /> <br />9.
