not go through because of added speeding and reckless driving by the golf course traffic
on the loop road. To him it appears that the project developer cannot control its
contractor or subcontractors. He will be observing the traffic and promised to turn
information into the public works director regarding violators exceeding the posted speed
limit.

Kurt Kummer, 4456 Clovewood Lane and member of the Bernal Block Party
Planning Committee, invited everyone to the upcoming annual Bemal Block Party (Put
Your Feet On It) to be held April 2004. This party will allow the community the
oppommity to walk around the entire property and look at information booths regarding
potential land uses. Food and entertainment booths will be featured as well as a
barbecue. Volunteers are encouraged and needed fi'om residents of the community,
service dubs, youth organizations, performers, bands, etc. Those interested were
encouraged to join the Bemal Block Party Planning Committee by calling Parks &
Community Services at 931-5346. The next committee meeting will be held this coming
Thursday at 157 Main Street, Room A. Ideas and suggestions will warmly be welcomed.

There were no further speakers.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTER S

Item 6a
PAP-51 {PADR-776~ Steven and Laura Siner) (SR 03:186)
Mayor Pico announced the Siners had withdrawn their appeal. City staffwould
provide an explanation as to what that means. Following the conclusion of staff's report,
Mayor Pico indicated he would open the public hearing to allow those who have filled
out a speakers card the oppommity to address the Council.

Brian SwiR presented the staffreport.

Mayor Pico opened the pubic hearing.

Karl Hagmaler, 6577 Stanton Circle, was grateful the Siners withdrew their
appeal. He asked what type of action could be taken in order for the City Council and
Planning Commission to rezone Rosepointe to a single story area. This would prevent
submittal of future applications requesting second-story additions and let Rosepointo
remain as a comfortable, unique and charming development as it was intended to be.

Mr. Swift indicated that the City Council or Planning Commission may initiate
any of the options as outlined in the staff report. Another option would be to proceed
with public heatings through the Planning Commission, City Council and the entire
neighborhood. Another method Council might want to follow would be to direct staff to
notify the entire neighborhood asking if there were support for a proposed rezone.

Pleasanton City Council 9 09/16/03
Minutes
