The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councllmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Hosterman, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: Councilmember Brozosky

Item 6f
Vineyard Corridor issues regarding trail and road landscaoin~. (SR 03:176)

Mr. Brozosky recused himself from this item due to the fact that he owns property within
the area.

Brian Swift presented the staff report.

Ms. Ayala asked if there have been discussions with the School District regarding
landscaping at Neal School?

Mr. Swit~ said the District is aware of the City's plans, but no direct discussions have
been held. The proposed landscaping is outside the school boundaries and is between the loop
road and the trail. There will be two pedestrian accesses to the school and he described the
locations. The landscaping will be maintained by the City, not the School District.

Mayor Pico invited public comment.

Kevin Ebrahimi, representing G-reenbriar, 43160 Osgood Road, Fremont, indicated that
several of the trail crossings only serve a few residents and the 18 foot width is appropriate.
However, on the Heinz property, there is a 32-foot right of way and he did not believe it was a
good design to reduce it to 18 feet. The Greenbriar traffic engineer recommended the reduction
be only 22 feet on the Heinz property to allow for more people crossing the area.

There were no other speakers on this item.

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Hosterman, to adopt Resolution No.
03-079, approving the Vineyard realignment and trail project, increasing landscaping
density opposite Neal Elementary; providing for 18-foot trail crossings, except allowing a
22-foot crossing on the Heinz property, and using decorative paving for the crossings of the
Vineyard Trail.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Hosterman, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: Councilmember Brozosky

Pleasanton City Council 14
Minutes

06/17/03
